Dr. Alexandra Bonhag is a Bluffton local excited to return home after her schooling to serve the Lowcountry community. Dr. Alexandra earned her undergraduate degree from The University of Alabama in 2022, before pursuing a Doctor of Chiropractic at Logan University, graduating in 2025.
While Dr. Alexandra welcomes and treats patients of all ages and conditions, she has a special focus on prenatal care and supporting women throughout their pregnancy journey. Certified in the Webster Technique through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA), Dr. Alexandra helps expectant mothers experience more comfortable pregnancies, postpartum care and healthy biomechanics throughout motherhood.
In addition to prenatal expertise, Dr. Alexandra is certified in Active Release Technique (ART), a hands-on technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, and nerves by precisely targeting and releasing tissue restrictions that cause pain, limit mobility, and decrease performance. Whether you’re an athlete dealing with overuse injuries, an office worker experiencing tension and stiffness, someone recovering from an injury, or a weekend warrior, ART can help restore proper tissue function and movement patterns. This advanced technique is particularly effective for conditions like headaches, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger finger, shin splints, shoulder pain, sciatica, and plantar fasciitis.
What truly sets Dr. Alexandra apart is her commitment to patient education. Rather than treating just your symptoms. Dr. Alexandra takes time to help patients understand their health, empowering them with knowledge about their bodies and practical exercise guidance they can use outside the office.
